End-to-End

End-to-end is aimed at both ends of the network transmission equipment for the relationship between. End-to-end transport refers to in data transmission, through various before exchange equipment, equipment room at both build a link, as they are directly connected is same, the link establishment, the sender can send data, until the data sent over, and the receiving end confirmed receiving success.
End-to-end transmission is the advantage of the link establishment, the sending end after receiving equipment must be able to receive know, and after middle when switching equipment do not need to undertake store-and-forward, so the propagation delay small.
End-to-end transmission fault is until the receiver to receive the data so far, the equipment has been sent to participate in transmission. If the whole transmission delay is very long, so the equipment to send did a lot of waste. End-to-end transmission of another drawback is that if the receiving device shutdown or fault, so end-to-end transmission may not happen.
In a network system in the layer, may use different end-to-end transmission, also may use the point-to-point transmission. Such as the Internet, the IP and the following the network layer using point-to-point transmission, 4 layer above the end-to-end transmission.
