SSTP: Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol

SSTP can create a transmission over the HTTPS VPN tunnel, thereby eliminating and based on PPTP ( point to point Tunneling Protocol ) or L2TP ( layer second tunneling protocol ) VPN connection problems. Because these agreements may be certain is located between a client and a server Web proxy, firewall and network address translation ( NAT ) routers. The SSTP can only be used for remote access, cannot support site and site between the VPN tunnel.
Microsoft hopes, when the IPSec VPN connection firewall or router by block, SSTP can help customers reduce the problems associated with IPSec VPN. In addition, the SSTP also won't produce retention problems, because it does not alter the end user VPN control. Based on the VPN SSTP tunnel can be directly inserted into the current Microsoft VPN client and server software interface.
